Border Security

If you believe we have a right or a self determination to decide who and how many people we allow into our country please act. Contact you Senator and Representative and let them know how you feel. Also feel free to sign this online petition found here - MinuteManHQ.com.

I believe in the rule of law. I am not a racists. In fact, I am married to a legal immigrant. If America believes that we should allow 100,000 or 10 million people to immigrate legally then all the better, but to intentional ignore our current laws and reward criminal behavior by immigrants is a crime against all the law abiding Americans and should not be rewarded.

Do not be fooled by any promise of law enforcement for any new immigration bill. In turn, do not be fooled into believing that the laws we have now are inadequate and unenforceable. The current laws could be enforced if we have the will to do so. Our current political leaders in both the Republican and Democratic parties have made a choice not to. All we need is leadership.

Latest Email Scam

I received a email from the Better Business Bureau regarding the latest email scam. Below in an excerpt, just in case you haven't heard about it yet...

" The IRS does not send out unsolicited e-mails or ask for detailed personal
and financial information. Additionally, the IRS never asks people for the
PIN numbers, passwords or similar secret access information for their credit
card, bank or other financial accounts.

"Everyone should beware of these scam artists," said Kevin M. Brown, Acting
IRS Commissioner. "Always exercise caution when you receive unsolicited
e-mails or e-mails from senders you don't know."

Recipients of questionable e-mails claiming to come from the IRS should not
open any attachments or click on any links contained in the e-mails.
Instead, they should forward the e-mails to phishing@irs.gov (the
instructions may be found on IRS.gov by entering the term "phishing" in the
search box).

The IRS also sees other e-mail scams that involve tricking victims into
revealing private personal and financial information over the Internet is
known as "phishing" for information. "

Now if we could get the FairTax Bill introduced and passed we could cut out another way for cyber criminals from ripping us off (not to mention the IRS).

A quick side thought to the Health Care debate

I was listening to a nationwide talk radio show this morning and the host was taking calls to discuss socialized Health Care. I'm not really writing about this debate but I would rather make a side point.

The host of the show was talking to a doctor who was quoting stats about the percent of people who get treatment but do not pay for any of the services. The host interjected asking who these people were. The doctor stated that the majority are what could be considered middle to low working class Americans.

I thought about this for a minute as the host went on about how we already have socialized health care since we can't turn people away due to ability to pay, and I asked myself this. If these are middle to low class Americans, why was the percent that couldn't pay so high (sorry, I forgot the actual percent the doctor stated)?

Could it be that an increasing number of Americans are living above their means? How many of these families own a car they can't afford, own a jet ski, or took a vacation they charged to a credit card? I'm not trying to sound elitist here, if you knew me you'd know that is not the case. My point is that I'd be willing to bet that anywhere for a quarter to half of the number the doctor quoted is due to irresponsible management of money by individuals, not because these people are poor.

Shouldn't this play some roll in the debate?
